eQ Sales Process and Contact Status
Contact Status describes where a customer stands in eQ's sales process. Keeping it current helps the team understand readiness, prioritize follow-up, and report consistently. Update the status based on what you know about the customer and document the reason for changes.
Contact Status and Deals
Contact Status reflects the customer's overall position. Deal stages track progress after a Sale. When a customer completes an eQ home loan application and moves to Sale, create an associated Deal. The Contact Status remains Sale throughout the open Deal process and changes to Booked or Lost when that outcome is reached.
Quick reference
All 11 Contact Status options. Lost, No Response and Out of Area / Spam are conditional outcomes, not steps every customer passes through. Tap a status for details.
Why these distinctions matter
- Outreach is not the same as connection. A connection requires two-way communication.
- Need More Info means the obstacle is still unknown. Future Buyer means the obstacle or future timeline is understood.
- Qualification requires both land/access to land and a reasonable financial path. It is not financing approval.
- Scheduled and completed appointments represent different milestones.
- Sale begins with a completed eQ home loan application.
- Booked requires accounting confirmation after closing.
- Lost requires a confirmed outcome. Silence alone does not mean Lost.
- Qualified and Sale contacts should not move to No Response solely because they become quiet.
- Contact Status and Deal stages serve different reporting purposes.
Follow-up expectations
Every contact in a New, Connected, Qualified, or Sale status must have a documented next step, a responsible person, and a follow-up date. Once a Deal exists, manage follow-up through the associated Deal.
When you update a status
- 1Review the latest customer information.
- 2Select the status supported by that information.
- 3Document why the status changed.
- 4Record the next step, responsible person and follow-up date where required.
- 5Keep the associated Deal current when one exists.
Practice: which status?
Think of your answer, then reveal it.
1. A new inquiry has received calls and emails but has never replied.
2. A customer wants to build next year and still needs land.
3. A customer has land and a reasonable financial path, but no appointment.
4. A qualified customer completed the appointment but has not completed the eQ home loan application.
5. A customer with an open Deal stops replying.
6. A sale has closed but accounting has not recorded the booking.
7. The customer confirms they chose another builder.
8. The customer lives outside eQ's building areas, but their proposed building site is inside an eQ building area.
